Moving on.
Smallridge State Farm, I would not recommend. They wanted to overcharge me for my new car, so I transferred to Bradley Blessing State Farm in Belleview, Florida, and got insurance for $70 less. I also got no help from them with the transfer—I had to call corporate myself to get it done. I feel that since there was no money in it for them, they weren’t going to help with the transfer as they said they would. I have been with Bradley’s office before and was always treated with the utmost respect. I would highly recommend his team to do the job.

Deep Dive: What Affects Kia Soul Car Insurance Rates?

Silver car driving past a historic building with arched windows, slightly blurred to indicate motion.

Several factors affect Kia Soul car insurance rates. Some factors may be in your control, like which safety feature and trim level you choose, while other factors may be out of your hands, like Kia theft rates.

Here’s a look at some of the factors that influence Kia Soul car insurance rates:

  • Theft rates: Newer Kia Souls are no longer listed among the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s top stolen cars. But widespread past thefts may continue to affect insurance rates, especially if you drive an older model.

  • Recalls: The Kia Soul has had more than one manufacturer safety recall over the years. Recalls don’t directly affect rates, but if you don’t make the necessary repairs, your rates could go up.

  • Safety features: If your Kia Soul has advanced safety features, you may qualify for discounts, depending on your insurance company.

  • Additional features: Anti-theft devices on your Kia Soul can help reduce theft risk and may help you get a discount to lower your premium.

How to Get Cheaper Car Insurance for Your Kia Soul

Whether you already own a Kia Soul or you’re thinking about buying one, these strategies can help you get cheaper car insurance:

  • Choose a lower-cost trim. Higher Soul trim models often cost more to repair or replace, leading to higher insurance premiums. A basic trim package can help keep your policy affordable.

  • Raise your deductible. You can usually lower your premium by increasing your deductible. Just be sure you can afford to pay the higher deductible out of pocket if you need to file a claim.

  • Keep your driving record clean. Practicing safe driving habits is one of the best ways to save on car insurance for your Kia Soul. Consider enrolling in a telematics program that rewards safe driving for even more savings.

  • Compare car insurance quotes often. Auto insurance rates change over time and differ between insurers. Compare quotes at least once a year to find the best rates.
