Rate hikes yet again. Leaving USAA after 28 years.
Reviewed in Arizona on July 2025
They have significantly increased rates over the last few years. I have excellent credit, a clean driving record, and no claims, yet rates increased again this renewal by another $160 per 6 months. My rate has increased over $400 in the last 18 months to now $1562.68 for 6 months.

Our experience with USAA was horrendous. We lost our home to Hurricane Beryl. Having been a member for 27 years and never making any claims, this experience was indescribable. USAA, to whom we had paid $410.36 for years, had me doing their job. No tickets, no DUI, and a 20-year-old driver. That is too expensive for anyone. After Beryl, there was no power, which meant no electricity, no internet, no open stores, no food, and no gas. By the beginning of the second month, USAA tried to make Texas Wind and Air responsible, then FEMA, for paying for the broken roof, fallen trees, flooded home, and damaged AC. We decided to pack up and move on our own dime again. USAA is and always will be a ripoff. Very expensive to be a USAA member. Never again. We are just fine with AAA. Personally, the old ways of taking care of folks with insurance are only found and available with AAA. USAA has not stopped offering me a job with their claims department since Hurricane Beryl, though. I must know what I am doing better than my agent, who got fired for drinking and falsifying claims documents. There's more to the storyline with USAA. Plan on having to call them constantly to make sure they are at work.

Currently Disgruntled with State Farm Insurance
Reviewed in Oregon on December 2025
Due to State Farm also being our homeowner insurance, and due to them canceling our homeowner insurance and the emotional effect of this cancellation, we are not too happy with State Farm. When pricing other home insurance providers, we learned from these potential providers that we were paying considerably higher for our State Farm car insurance than other insurance companies. Thus, if I were to advise a friend regarding State Farm, I would tell them my experience was that I found much cheaper car insurance with other providers. However, the agent LuAnn Davidson, our State Farm agent, on four different occasions went to bat for us (took our side) when we had issues with State Farm and caused the issue to be resolved in our favor. We were with State Farm for more than 10 years. I would advise my friend if you are going with State Farm, have LuAnn be your agent.

Why we picked this company

Allstate offers valuable perks for Audi S4 drivers, including deductible rewards and a safe driving bonus for staying accident-free. Its Drivewise telematics program gives safe drivers more ways to save, though high-risk driving habits may increase rates. Low-mileage drivers might get an even better deal with Milewise, its pay-per-mile insurance plan.

Pros
  • Vanishing deductible rewards available

  • Customizable coverage options

Cons
  • Drivewise participation may raise rates

  • Poor Trustpilot rating[3]

Audi S4 Insurance Rates by State

Where you live makes a real difference in what you’ll pay for your S4’s insurance. Your state sets its own minimum coverage requirements, which directly affects your baseline costs. Beyond that, insurers look at local factors like weather patterns, repair costs, crime rates, and how often lawsuits happen in your area.[4]

Audi S4 Insurance Rates by Driver Age

Your driving experience matters when it comes to insurance costs. Teen drivers face the highest crash rates of any age group, which is why their premiums run so much higher. The good news is that as you gain more years behind the wheel, crash rates drop significantly, and your premiums do as well.[5]

Here’s a look at how premiums vary across age groups for Audi S4 drivers, according to Compare.com data.

Cheapest Audi S4 car insurance for teens and drivers younger than 25

Teens pay higher rates because the numbers tell a stark story. Drivers aged 16–19 are nearly three times as likely to get into an accident as drivers aged 20 and older.[6] Inexperience behind the wheel translates directly to risk, and insurers raise prices accordingly.

Here are the companies with the most competitive rates for teen Audi S4 drivers, according to our data.

Cheapest Rates for Young Drivers

Cheapest Audi S4 car insurance for seniors

Senior drivers often receive some of the best car insurance rates, thanks to their years of driving experience. Many older drivers also tend to be more cautious, follow speed limits, and drive fewer miles overall.[7]

For these reasons, insurers see them as lower risk and charge them lower rates for coverage. If you’re a senior with an S4, you can get even lower rates with the companies in the chart below, based on our research.

Audi S4 Insurance Rates by Driving Record

Your driving history influences what you’ll pay more than almost any other factor. Insurers review your record because it’s a strong predictor of future claims.[8] Past violations, like tickets and accidents, tell companies whether you’re a riskier driver.

The good news is some insurers specialize in covering high-risk drivers, so you’ve still got options even if your record isn’t spotless.

Here’s a look at our data on the cheapest insurers for S4 drivers with moving violations on their records.

Cheapest Audi S4 insurance for drivers with a speeding ticket

Speeding tickets can increase your rates because insurers see them as red flags for future claims. How much your rate goes up can depend on how fast you were going over the limit. Speeding accounted for approximately 29% of all motor vehicle fatalities in 2023, which helps explain why insurance companies take these violations seriously.[9]

Here are the cheapest insurers for Audi S4 drivers with a recent ticket, according to our research.

Cheapest Audi S4 insurance for drivers with an accident

An at-fault accident signals to insurers that you’re more likely to have another one down the road. When you file a claim above a specific amount for an accident you caused, insurers typically raise your premium by a certain percentage. These increases typically remain in effect for three years after the claim.[10]

The chart below highlights a few companies that offer great rates, even if you have a recent accident.

Cheapest Rates With an Accident

Cheapest Audi S4 insurance for drivers with a DUI

Driving under the influence (DUI) is extremely dangerous, so a DUI will cause your car insurance costs to increase dramatically. In fact, you’re four times more likely to cause an accident with a BAC of .08 (the legal limit in most states) than if you were sober, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

If the state convicts you of a DUI, it’ll likely require you to file an SR-22 or FR-44 form, which shows you have the required insurance coverage, before you can get your license back.

Here are the most affordable insurance options for Audi S4 drivers with a DUI on their records, according to our research.

    Performance and risk

A turbocharged engine and sporty handling classify the Audi S4 as a higher-risk car, which means you’ll likely pay more to insure it.

    High value and luxury status

The S4’s premium build and Kelley Blue Book price range of $56,195–$62,795 make repairs and replacement costly, raising insurance premiums.

    Safety features and ratings

The S4’s standard driver-assistance safety technology (only available on Premium Plus and Prestige trims), a 5-star NHTSA rating, and an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ rating help lower insurance costs for the S4.

How to Get Cheaper Car Insurance for Your Audi S4

Here are a few ways you can get cheaper Audi S4 car insurance:

  • Use telematics programs. Practicing safe driving habits could lead to lower S4 insurance rates if you allow your insurer to track your trips.

  • Buy a lower-level trim. Although you get more advanced safety features with higher trim levels, lower trims cost less to repair and insure, which could lead to more savings.

  • Ask about discounts. Most insurers offer car insurance discounts to help drivers save. Ask which discounts are available so you can take advantage of everything you qualify for.

  • Consider a higher deductible. Raising your deductible will lower your premium. Just make sure you can afford the higher out-of-pocket costs if you file a claim.
