Alfa Romeo Giulia

Average Alfa Romeo Giulia insurance cost: $203 per month

2026 Alfa Romeo Giulia MSRP: Starting at $47,745

With the Alfa Romeo 4C engine and performance to match its sporty styling, the Giulia lives up to the brand’s Italian sports-car lineage while still offering the convenience of a four-door sedan.

The Giulia received good safety ratings (the highest level) from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for driver-side safety but scored only marginal ratings (the second-lowest level) for child safety-seat anchors.[1]

You can find the insurers with the cheapest car insurance rates for Alfa Romeo Giulia drivers in the table below, according to Compare.com data.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Average Alfa Romeo Stelvio insurance cost: $184 per month

2026 Alfa Romeo Stelvio MSRP: Starting at $52,745

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the brand’s SUV, offering a little more comfort and luxury than the Giulia while still providing the beloved Alfa Romeo 4C engine.

Despite the Stelvio’s higher price tag and its lack of safety ratings from the IIHS or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, its average insurance quotes are lower than the cost of the Giulia. This may, in part, be because insurers consider it more of a family car than a sports car.

In the table below, you’ll find the cheapest car insurance rates for the Stelvio, according to our data.

Too costly for senior drivers who don't drive much, are on low income, have older cars, and only need state-mandated coverage with no tickets against them. Auto insurance companies need to offer affordable insurance.

With my last policy, they didn't write it up the way I wanted, and when I asked them to change it back, they wouldn't do it. They overcharged me for my policy. They also charged me for an accident that I didn't have, and when I requested a change, they wouldn't adjust it. Poor excuse for an insurance company, so my renewal will not be with State Farm.

Other Factors That Affect Alfa Romeo Car Insurance Rates

Other factors can affect how much Alfa Romeo drivers pay for their car insurance. The brand-specific factors below may account for what you’re seeing when you request insurance quotes.

Alfa Romeo safety ratings

Despite the multiple Alfa Romeo models for sale in the U.S., only the Giulia has an IIHS safety rating. The Giulia got top driver-side safety ratings, although it has an incomplete evaluation for crashworthiness and a marginal rating for child seat anchors.

The IIHS hasn’t reviewed the Tonale or the Stelvio models. The lack of safety ratings, along with the Giulia's incomplete and marginal ratings, could increase your insurance costs.

Alfa Romeo repair and replacement costs

The cost to repair your Alfa Romeo or replace parts can also make a difference in your premiums, since it affects the cost of a claim if you need to file one.

Annual maintenance and repair costs for an Alfa Romeo average $834.[8] Costs vary by model, but higher-performance trims like the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio typically cost more to repair because of specialized parts and more complex components.

Keep in mind that Alfa Romeo has a smaller dealership network in the U.S. than some larger automakers, so it may be difficult to find service centers or replacement parts in some areas.

Alfa Romeo trim levels

Each Alfa Romeo model has several trim levels to choose from. For example, the 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale is available in the base-level Sprint, which has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $36,995, or you can upgrade to the Tonale Sport Speciale or the Tonale Veloce, each of which has a starting MSRP of $42,190.[9]

Since the higher trim levels are more expensive, they’ll generally cost more to insure.

Car Insurance Coverages to Consider for Your Alfa Romeo

In addition to minimum liability coverage that your state requires, which usually includes bodily injury liability and property damage liability coverage, it’s a good idea to also consider the following coverages:

  • Collision coverage: If a collision with another car or object damages your Alfa Romeo, collision coverage will help pay for repairs, no matter who was at fault.

  • Comprehensive coverage: If anything other than a collision damages your Alfa Romeo, like a falling tree branch or hail, comprehensive coverage will help you pay for repairs.

  • Gap insurance: If you total your car, gap insurance will pay the difference between what you still owe on your auto loan and the amount your insurance pays. When financing a new Alfa Romeo, this can be important for protecting your finances.

  • Custom parts and equipment insurance: Standard policies typically don’t cover aftermarket or custom parts. It may make sense to purchase this coverage to protect your aftermarket additions to your Alfa Romeo.
