You may know Allstate from…
Allstate logo and slogan:
You’ve more than likely heard the slogan, “You’re in Good Hands with Allstate.” Featured in many of their advertising campaigns and commercials, the saying “You’re in Good Hands” is now synonymous with the Allstate brand. Created in the 1950s, this slogan is insanely popular, with one study citing it as the most recognized slogan in the United States. Allstate’s logo was also designed with the “You’re in Good Hands” slogan in mind, as it depicts a pair of giant hands that are protectively cradling those who are insured with Allstate.
Allstate spokespersons and mascots
Though you might not recognize him by name, you would almost certainly recognize Dennis Haysbert if you saw his face. He has served as a spokesperson for Allstate since 2003. His message in most commercials is that Allstate is worth paying more for because of the safety and protection that their “Good Hands” offer.
The “Mayhem” character was created in April 2010, and has since featured in a number of Allstate commercials. His routine is always the same: Mayhem identifies a risk he is portraying, then hints at the impending disaster that he is going to cause. After the disaster occurs, Mayhem warns that “cut-rate” policies lack the coverage for the situation he has caused, advising viewers to choose Allstate for full-coverage policies. Each commercial ends with Mayhem telling viewers that by having Allstate, they will be “better protected from mayhem...like me.”
