If you’re financing or leasing your Kia Sorento, your lender will likely require full-coverage insurance. It typically includes liability insurance, plus collision and comprehensive coverage, which help cover repairs to your own vehicle in the event of accidents, theft, or weather damage.

Keep in mind that your deductible and optional add-ons affect total insurance costs.

Not sure where to place the Drive Safe app on the fob in the vehicle. One month I save a little, the next month it's up again. I don't drive every day like most. I'm retired and have this new truck, which I don't see ever putting on the national average miles. I may drive it once or twice a month. Yet my savings don't reflect that. I've been insured with State Farm since I was 17. I'm 62. I should be saving a lot more.

Bad customer service, no discounts, overpriced, and they do not care about their customers. My mom had been with them for 56 years, and they would not assist her or give her time to get the information she needed. They talked really horribly to her. I got coverage for 3 cars for less than the amount they were charging me for 3. I have no tickets or DUIs, and they gave me no discounts. I will never use their service again or refer anyone I know.

Cheapest Kia Sorento car insurance for teens and drivers younger than 25

Young drivers typically pay more for Kia Sorento car insurance due to risky driving behaviors that increase their likelihood of getting into an accident. Lack of experience, distracted driving, speeding, and driving during nighttime and weekends all contribute to higher insurance rates for this age group.[6]

That said, rates vary by company, so shopping around can help you find the lowest rates. Here are the cheapest insurers for young Sorento drivers, according to Compare.com data.

Cheapest Rates for Young Drivers

Cheapest Kia Sorento car insurance for seniors

Older drivers with years of experience behind the wheel can often qualify for lower car insurance rates. Many insurers reward safe driving behavior and lower annual mileage, which can help keep premiums affordable for seniors.

You might get even cheaper rates by shopping around and comparing quotes from multiple companies. The chart below shows the cheapest insurance companies for seniors who own a Sorento, according to our data.

Kia Sorento Insurance Rates by Driving Record

Your driving record plays a huge role in what you pay to insure a Kia Sorento. A clean driving record usually keeps rates lower, while tickets, accidents, and driving under the influence (DUI) convictions can significantly raise premiums. A DUI often triggers the steepest hike and may even cause your insurer to not renew your policy.[7]

Check out the chart below to see average Sorento insurance premiums based on driving record, according to our data.

Cheapest Kia Sorento insurance for drivers with a speeding ticket

Insurers consider speeding tickets a risk factor because speeding lowers reaction time and increases crash severity.[8] More serious speeding offenses — like going 10+ mph over the limit — can raise your rates even more than minor violations.

Since each company weighs tickets differently, comparing insurers can help limit premium increases. Take a look at the chart below to see which insurers offer the most affordable premiums for Sorento drivers with a speeding ticket, according to Compare.com data.

Cheapest Kia Sorento insurance for drivers with an accident

You’ll usually pay more for Kia Sorento insurance if you cause an accident. Insurers generally charge higher premiums after an accident because past claims mean you’re more likely to file future claims.[9]

Since companies vary widely in how heavily accidents affect premiums, shopping around and keeping a clean driving record can make a big difference in your rates after an at-fault accident.

The following chart shows the cheapest insurance companies for Kia Sorento drivers with a recent at-fault accident, according to Compare.com data.

Cheapest Rates With an Accident

Cheapest Kia Sorento insurance for drivers with a DUI

A DUI conviction typically leads to the steepest insurance rate increase for drivers because it dramatically increases crash risk. About 30% of traffic fatalities each year involve alcohol-impaired driving, with alcohol-related crashes most common among drivers ages 21-24, according to 2023 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash data.

If you have a recent DUI conviction, you may find lower rates with companies specializing in high-risk drivers. Let’s take a look at the chart below, which lists the cheapest insurers for Sorento drivers with a DUI conviction, according to Compare.com data.
