Why we picked this company

USAA consistently earns top marks from J.D. Power for customer and claims satisfaction.[2] [3] Notably, it also offers some of the lowest insurance rates for Cayenne drivers. It has a wide range of insurance products and banking services for its members. That said, it offers fewer optional coverages and discounts than other insurance companies.

Pros
  • Cheapest average rates

  • Many available insurance products

Cons
  • Only available to military community

  • Fewer add-on auto coverages than competitors

Not sure where to place the Drive Safe app on the fob in the vehicle. One month I save a little, the next month it's up again. I don't drive every day like most. I'm retired and have this new truck, which I don't see ever putting on the national average miles. I may drive it once or twice a month. Yet my savings don't reflect that. I've been insured with State Farm since I was 17. I'm 62. I should be saving a lot more.

Cheapest Porsche Cayenne car insurance for teens and drivers younger than 25

Drivers younger than 25 have the highest crash risk of any age group, which is why insurers charge them the highest auto insurance rates. Teens are in fatal crashes at nearly three times the rate of older drivers, with most wrecks occurring at nighttime and on the weekends.[5]

Some insurance companies consider age as a risk factor differently, so comparing insurance quotes can help you avoid high rates. Below, you can look at the chart below for the cheapest insurers for young Cayenne drivers, based on our data.

Cheapest Rates for Young Drivers

Cheapest Porsche Cayenne car insurance for seniors

Drivers with many years behind the wheel are generally safer drivers with fewer accidents. That’s why insurance companies typically charge senior drivers the least for car insurance compared to any other age group. But rates vary by company, so you should always compare quotes to find the best deal.

Here are the monthly average rates from the cheapest insurers for senior drivers with a Porsche Cayenne, based on Compare.com data.

Porsche Cayenne Insurance Rates by Driving Record

Your driving record significantly affects your insurance rates. Car insurance companies view accidents, tickets, and DUIs as indicators of claims risk. Even a single speeding ticket or at-fault accident can increase your premium, usually for a minimum of three years.[6]

Let’s take a look at the table below to see average monthly premiums for Cayenne drivers based on driving history, according to Compare.com data.

As you can see, car insurance rates jump substantially after an at-fault accident or DUI conviction. Porsche Cayenne drivers pay around $284 per month after a DUI, which is about 68% more than Cayenne drivers with a clean record.

Cheapest Porsche Cayenne insurance for drivers with a speeding ticket

Speeding is an aggressive driving behavior that can lead to accidents. It contributes to nearly 30% of traffic fatalities, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).[7] How much your premium will increase depends on the severity of the ticket and your insurance company. Comparing quotes after a speeding ticket is the best way to lessen the rate increase.

Check out the chart below for the cheapest insurance companies for Cayenne drivers with a speeding ticket, based on our data.

Cheapest Rates With a Ticket

Cheapest Porsche Cayenne insurance for drivers with an accident

If you’re in an at-fault accident, insurers often raise your rates because they see you as a higher risk of filing future claims.[8] Premiums and how insurers rate for accidents vary by company, so shopping around can help you find lower rates.

The following chart breaks down the cheapest insurance companies for Cayenne drivers with an at-fault accident, according to data from Compare.com.

Cheapest Rates With an Accident

Cheapest Porsche Cayenne insurance for drivers with a DUI

A DUI causes the most significant rate increase of any driving infraction because it makes you much more likely to cause serious harm to others. Around 34 people die every day in crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver in the U.S., according to the NHTSA.[9]

If you have a recent DUI conviction, you should consider comparing quotes from companies that specialize in high-risk drivers or penalize DUIs less than other insurers.

Deep Dive: What Affects Porsche Cayenne Car Insurance Rates?

Personal factors aren’t the only criteria insurers use to price policies. Here are a few of the vehicle-specific variables companies will likely consider when determining rates for a Porsche Cayenne:

  • High vehicle value: A new Cayenne starts at $88,800 and can reach well over six figures for certain trims.[10] Higher vehicle costs result in bigger claim payouts and more expensive insurance rates.

  • Performance and repair costs: The Cayenne has a sporty engine and premium parts that cost more to replace than those of average SUVs, raising insurance premiums.

  • Safety features: The Cayenne comes standard with systems like lane departure and collision warning, which may qualify you for a safety features discount.[11]

How to Get Cheaper Car Insurance for Your Porsche Cayenne

Close-up of a black Porsche Cayenne's rear, showing the "Porsche" and "Cayenne" insignia, with a blurred background.

Here are some tips to get cheaper Porsche Cayenne car insurance:

  • Choose a cheaper trim. Porsche offers many Cayenne models to choose from. The GTS, hybrid, and turbo models are pricier than the base model and will cost more to insure.

  • Consider a gas-powered model. On average, electric vehicles in the U.S. cost around 8% more, on average, to insure than gas-powered cars, so you may want to consider a gas-powered Cayenne. That said, electric vehicle owners also save money on fuel costs.

  • Buy an SUV instead of a coupe. The Cayenne comes in your choice of an SUV or a coupe. An SUV is typically cheaper to insure than a coupe or sports car, according to our data.

  • Evaluate your coverage needs. If you can afford a Porsche, you may have a net worth that needs protecting. Make sure your liability coverage limits are high enough to protect your assets in case you cause a serious accident.
